Generous support from Somerset Council
We would like to say a special thank you to Somerset Council for their generous support through their ‘Help Through Winter’ funding. This additional help enabled us to buy more meat, meaning the meals we cook from surplus food can include an all-important, extra boost of high-quality protein, in turn helping continue providing nutritious meals for those in our community who need them most. We were also able to add extra meat to our Pantry Member’s shopping baskets, helping to stretch their budgets further. We’re delighted to have been part of this initiative, which is supporting nearly 100 groups across Somerset to help residents and families through the winter months. This sort of support is so important for charities like ours as it helps us manage our own limited budget. We also want to give a special mention to Tim Potter, Son and Daughter, Butchers (Wellington) for supplying the extra meat we were able to buy as a result of the funding, at a very good price.
Each and every penny we source through direct donations, support from local businesses or funding awarded by local councils or organisation, helps us to carry on providing services to those that need them across the 10 parishes and sometimes further afield.
